Ongoing Projects of Ecotourism Development

Capacity building of forest staff, guides, rest house care takers, boat men etc. in various aspects of ecotourism is an important function of the Board. Every year the Board organizes training programmes, workshops and exposure visits for the target groups. The board has already touched nearly 800 persons through various human resource development initiatives.

Guide Training Program

Maharashtra Eco-tourism Board, Pench Tiger Conservation Foundation and Bombay Natural History Society jointly organized trainings for guides in all the tiger reserves in Vidarbha region. About 47 guides from Pench, Bor, Melghat, Navegaon- Nagzira, Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve & Umred-Karhandla Sanctuary were participated in this 10 days long programme. All the guides gave very positive response to this training. The training was carried out from 16th to 26th September, 2016.
