Jayakwadi Bird Sanctuary

Situated in between Aurangabad and Ahmednagar district in the state Maharashtra, jayakwadi Bird Sanctuary is a home to numerous species of birds that are found here. The sanctuary is a bird’s lover paradise as jayakwadi Bird Sanctuary attracts numerous resident and migrant birds. The sanctuary is a home to more than 200 species of birds that includes more than 70 species of migratory birds. Some of the popular migratory birds that you can spot here include cranes, Flamingos, Pintails, Wigeon, Shoveller, Brahmany Duck, Pochards, Teals and glossy Ibis, among others. The proximity of Nathsagar lake to the bird sanctuary makes the surrounding of the sanctuary rich in aquatic flora and fauna apart from the numerous avian species that flock the area. The aquatic vegetation that you can see here includes species of Spyrogyra, Hydrilla, Chara, Potamogeton, and Vallisneria among others. There are more than 50 species of fishes, which can be fiund in the Nathsagar Lake around the sanctuary.
